August 30, 2008 in PDA Concert Hall marked  very significant events of the Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Scholars.  What are these events? Well, it is the night where the Top 6 Scholars will be determined. It is also the launching of the first album of the Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 scholars.  Lastly, it is  the night that will mark an end to either to our two probationary scholars, Van Pojas or Hansen Nicholas.

As you remember, I posted a few days  ago about who will be the next PDA Expelled Scholar: Hansen Nicholas or Van Pojas? Well guys, as I mentioned they both have the looks and so we must objectively judge them according to their musicality.

But oh, I think mass appeal drown my objective intention for judgment of the two good friends  who are also probationary scholars for last week. Why? It is because Van Pojas made it to the Top 6 Scholars of this season of Pinoy Dream Academy. It was a close fight where their votes are quite near to each other. Van Pojas got 54.48% of votes while Hansen got 45.42%. Quite near isn’t it? I’m happy for Van and congratulations for him but I’m sad for Hansen because I honestly see him to be more musically skilled person than Van, IMO. Well, I just wanted them both to be part of the Top 6 Scholars.

Anyway our Top 6 Scholars of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 are: Liezel, Laarni, Bugoy, Van, Cris and Miguel.

Wheew! Two more weeks to go before the Grand Dream Night. Who will be our Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Grand Star Dreamer? Who’s your bet? Well, whoever he/she is, I just wish the Grand Star Dreamer will be justifiable enough for the title.

PS: Did you like the way I paired the pictures of the Top 6 Scholars?  IMO, I equally paired them of what they got. Who will be the Grand Star Dreamer? Will it be:

a. The unique voice of Liezel?
b. The powerful and flexible voice of Laarni?
c. The very good singer but oh, oh looks of Bugoy?
d. The very good looking but oh,oh in talent- Van?
e. The sensual, Cris?
f. The balladeer, Miguel?

Anyway, let’s get to the point. The stage mothers: Sharon Cuneta and Annabelle Rama were very vocal of their disappointment toward GMA-7 Network for setting the same date and schedule of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s free birthday concert to KC Concepcion and Richard Guttierez Premiere Night for their movie, For The First Time-which is last night - August 26, 2008.

In fairness to these two stage mothers, I believe they are disappointed because why in heaven GMA decided to share on Richard and KC’s movie viewers with a free concert ticket given for Marian and Dingdong’s post birthday concert, considering the fact that Richard Guttierez is one of GMA’s  hottest talents.  So, what’s GMA-7’s motive of doing this? I think you can even figure it out on your seats why.

On the other hand, do you think these  two stage mothers: Sharon Cuneta and Annabelle Rama are just over reacting on the whole story? Given they are disappointed. Fine! But have they ever thought that why should in heaven that show business will halt just to pave their way for KC and Richard’s movie- For The First Time when the fact is - they are not the only “STARS” who’ve got the looks and talents to show off.

Wow. Beijing 2008 Olympics blew away television with 214 Million Viewers making it as the Most Watched Event this year.

The 2008 Beijing Olympics reached 214 million viewers, making it the most-watched event according to numbers released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research.

Of course, who will be glued to such spectacles as Michael Phelps‘ acquisition of a record eight gold medals, the triumph of the itty-bitty Chinese women’s gymnastics team and the U.S. “Redeem Team’s” total domination over all comers in basketball helped the 2008 Beijing Olympic games surpass the previously most watched event of all time—the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta—by 5 million viewers and Athens  by 11 million.

We’re counting down to three more weeks before the Grand Dream Night of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2. Also, we’re down to the top six whose believed to be a really exciting fight for the most prestigious title-the Grand Star Dreamer! But who will be the expelled scholar next week?

Anyway, let’s pause for a very short while on that countdown and have a little chit chat about our two probationary scholars for this week- Hansen Nicholas and Van Pojas. Who do you think will be the next PDA Expelled Scholar and will lose that chance to be the Grand Dreamer. These two hot hunks are two good friends inside the academy but one of them next Saturday must prove who’s better than the other.

So, who’s your bet? Who do you think deserves to stay in the academy and continue their dreams? Well, they both have the looks - so I suggest you’d better judge them who’s got the real talent.  Who do you think will be the PDA expelled scholar next week? Will it be Hansen Nicholas or Van Pojas?

Jericho Rosales is back on Philippine television for his Asian novel, Kahit Isang Saglit (A Time For Us). He is paired to Malaysian actress, Carmen Soo and the intriguing love triangle with Christine Reyes.

Jericho Rosales is one of ASAP’s The Hunks and I’m pretty sure his fans must have missed him a lot because his Philippine showbiz career is somehow quite for the past months and now glad that we’ll be seeing him again.  In addition, I honestly miss his team up with Kristine Hermosa. They really just look very beautiful with each other. Do you think it will be possible? They are both single anyway so I think it won’t be an issue anymore. Well, let’s just see-how this pinoy hunk can move viewers’ emotion again in Primetime Bida.

I am just wondering where is this ABS CBN’s The HUNKS member - Piolo Pascual. After a successful team up with Angel Locsin in their Primetime teleserye LOBO, I no longer see him in television, ASAP and any guestings.

Hmmm. What is Piolo Pascual up to? Is there a new teleserye or movie coming up for him or is he even working at it right now? Will he be paired again to Angel Locsin who’s been quite also after Lobo?

Beijing Olympics 2008 is one of the hottest topics today-at home, school and more in the Internet. I was just really surprised of this awesome swimming athlete - Michael Phelps.

Michael Phelps notched another gold medal today - Friday, winning the 200-meter individual medley in a world-record time of 1:54.23. He’s incredibly awesome swimmer. I couldn’t imagine an athlete giving those graceful and powerful breast strokes in the water during the live feeds for Beijing Olympics 2008.

For those of you keeping track at home for Michael Phelps in Beijing Olympics 2008, that makes six gold medals – and six world records. In addition, Michael Phelps also scored six golds and two bronzes four years ago, in Athens. Great isn’t it?

Before the showing of A Very Special Love, John Lloyd said his new leading lady Sarah Geronimo is very lovable. Now, John Lloyd will surely love Sarah more because of the success of their team up on this love story. A Very Special Love hits box office for its few weeks aired in theaters.

Because of this success, hitting the box office again with his team up to Sarah proves John Lloyd versatility in acting-that he could succeed without the long term love team with Bea Alonzo.  John Lloyd even stressed out before that there was indeed a big pressure for him taking in this movie because of a new team up and not to mention the typical filipino love story of A Very Special Love.

When I surf around the Internet these days, I read a lot of good comments about the movie. I wasn’t able to watch it myself so I could not rate and comment on the movie itself. I believe, box office hits of A Very Special Love is brought by the original fans of Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz.  Sarah is a recognized pop diva and John Lloyd as a young actor and even the best of his generation today. So no wonder, their movie would really drive viewers to spend a couple of bucks to watch it in theaters.

Paris Hilton is sued by  film’s distributor, Florida-based Worldwide Entertainment Group due to breach of contract, charging that Paris didn’t come through after being paid $1 million to star in and promote the 2006 comedy - Pledge This!

Paris starred in this straight-to-DVD Pledge This! which came out in December 2006, with Paris Hilton’s mug plastered across the cover, indicating that she was a major part of the film. Tsk..tsk…tsk.. We have not heard yet any comments from Paris Hilton being sued for breach of contract. Let’s see what she says about this.
