Kristine Hermosa as Rubi
Surfing the net will just land you to pages you don’t even think you will. Well, thanks tonight because I landed at Yoshke.Com and got some juicy entertainment news. I found his Primetime Remake post about popular Asian or Mexican telenovelas that either ABS-CBN or GMA-7 will grab for a remake. What rangs the bell is the remake of the Mexican Telenovela, Rubi which will hopefully be given to Kristine Hermosa.
Quoted from Yoshke: “Remakes are Philippine television’s new trend. Be it a local movie, a Latin American telenovela or an Asian series — name it — as long as it’s appealing, either ABS-CBN2 or GMA7 will pick it up, lay it on the table and turn it into something horrible. Well, not always.I don’t know where I stand exactly on this. These remakes may not be very healthful for our media industries — I mean, come on, we can come up with something brilliantly original. In fact, we already have — but hey, it’s really interesting to anticipate how they will improve or mess up the original concept. The most exciting part on the part of the viewers is to see if the new cast can actually match that of the original. ”
Well, the author’s list of Philippine Remakes were: Rubi, My Girl and Yo Soy Betty La Fea which My Girl ended last night and Betty La Fea Primetime Showing is on Monday, September 8, 2008.
Well, from the three remakes, only Rubi that we have not heard a lot yet. ABS-CBN for sure still making fine touches about it. By the way, below is a wiki info about Rubi.
Rubí is a beautiful, charismatic young woman from a working-class background. She is studying at a university because of her sister’s great efforts. Rubí is best friends with Maribel, a wealthy young woman with a small defect in her leg. Rubí eventually meets Maribel’s boyfriend Hector and his best friend Alejandro. A much darker truth lies inside of Rubí. She is driven by a dark ambition that will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and what she wants is to escape from poverty and be wealthy.
Very well that Yoshke heard something about this at least we have something to look forward to. Also, have read that prospect Rubi will be given to Angelica Panginiban, Alessandra de Rossi and Wendy Valdez. And Yoshke’s suggestion is Kristine Hermosa and I strongly agree to that. Though Kristine Hermosa has been always a naive poor young leading lady but goodness she just got the looks that is perfect for a Bida Kontrabida role like Rubi. to Yoshke I was sending to this message that it’s was nice for a kristine hermosa to do this roll but make sure you did not copy the original of this darams beacuse I was a watching the My gril on the abs-cbn and it’s was the same story abouth it’s and I did not like it beause that it was not show how the pilpinos was make a own the original story of the movies. and also a was same story abouth it I have a original stroy of the My gril’s in the DVD. Yes. This post however is when Rubi’s character is not yet revealed to who will act as Rubi. News said it was originally given to Kristine Hermosa but due to some conflicts of Kristine’s beliefs, she couldn’t accept the role.
