Why Transparency Is Important In Business? Then, How?

business transparency

Why Transparency Is Important In Business? Honestly, I am asking that to myself.  I believe it is important but why and how?

Well, I would love to share the lessons I’ve learned along the way and I think it would be best conveyed if I use my own experience.

Okay, so I’ll get started.

I and most of us, once or more became an employee. I cared much to the company I was working before. Well, it was my first job fresh from graduation and so I just wanted to learn each and every details about it — goals, operations and name it.

In the early stage of my work, everything was fine. Daily communications are held, updates are given and so on and so forth. Then later, the management became so passive and everything was vague to me which have brought me a lot of confusions and misleaded conclusions. A long list of company’s goals were not achieved and I ended up “somehow” hating the company which I used to love and I used to dreamed working at.

As an employee, I understand and will understand problems that the company is facing especially to our current situation right now but I am not that kind of employee who will just woke up in the day, go to office and work then bade goodbye when the shift ends.  There were a lot of flaws. A lot of questionable decisions. It was really questionable on my end because how will I understand if it wasn’t explained to us in the very first place. How could I? Well, that work didn’t lasted long and so I have to leave and look for something worth working for.

Lesson:

So now, this is for all business CEOs, managers or to whatever you call yourselves you are.

What if it happens you’re exactly the same management, company or business that I have worked for? You forgot to communicate to your employees. You missed to let them understand any problems that you might be facing right now. Have you ever thought that by just doing that you drove your employees away? Have you ever thought that you took away from them, their care and passion in achieving your business goals with you?

Now what, how can you be transparent?

If you looked at it, it lacked something really, really important. What? C’mon, tell me! You might be shouting to me those phrases in your mind right now.

Well, our dear beloved CEOs and Management Team — that very important key I am trying to point out is EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION! That’s it!

I agree. Effective communication always comes together with transparency. Anyone could never be transparent unless they learn to communicate.

Interesting insights you got here. Saw this post via Twitter and this is in fact applicable to all walks of life not just in business. Great lessons.
