I just heard over the radio news about a 13 year old kid being bullied over the social networking site Facebook. The kid filed a complaint against the one who bullied him in the Facebook. The school administration immediately suspends the Facebook bully along with 20 other kids who become a fan of that bully page.
Bullying is indeed one step higher nowadays. Gone are the days where physical and verbal abuse would take some time before it will become a sure fire. With the advent of technology and social networking sites, you can easily bully somebody and degrade their morality with few clicks.
According to stopcyberbullying.org, “Cyberbullying” is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones.
Facebook and other social networking sites are effective tools for cyberbullying. That is why Facebook has agreed to strengthen their security measures against cyberbullying.
If you are into Social Networking and people suggests something to you that makes you feel uncomfortable, avoid it as much as possible. If the communication keeps coming back over and over again, keep telling them to stop doing it. You can also block people whom you think are harassing you.
If you have been bullied again, then find for “Report” link. Facebook has a “report” link and I do believe that other Social Networking websites have this link also. The webpage administrator will do necessary action once you report a particular user.
Protect yourself against cyberbullying. If you believe you deserve respect, report them immediately. This will not only help you save yourself but also other potential victims. Social Networking websites should be pure fun, let’s help prevent cyberbullying.

You can’t really avoid people like that especially in the world of internet where everyone is welcome. If you can still handle it, them take it as a way of enjoying the internet. If not, then avoid them and report it. You will never know, it may lead to a more serious matter.

i agree with precious mae and parents should warn children about the dangers of the internet, and should invest on parental lock on their computers and filter those sites not appropriate for children.
