Apple’s “Latest Creation” is iPad Tablet
Finally, Apple has unveiled their mysterious “latest creation”. It is a tablet-style iPad which costs $499. The latest creation has a size larger that iPhone and was billed by CEO Steve Jobs as “so much more intimate than a laptop and so much more capable than a smart phone.”
Apple’s iPad tablet has a 9.7-inch touch screen, is a half-inch thick, weighs 1.5 pounds and comes with 16, 32 or 64 gigabytes of flash memory storage. It comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity built in. The device has a battery that lasts 10 hours and can sit for a month on standby without needing a charge. The price of the device depends on the storage size. It will cost $499, $599 and $699.
The revelation of this latest creation has been carefully planned. Before the revelation of this device, analysts speculate that the device might be a one-piece tablet computer with a big touch screen, larger than an iPhone but smaller than a laptop. And this has been correctly speculated.
Some analysts don’t want to call iPad as a new category of device. The device lacks social features which could not justify the satisfaction of the consumers. The device cannot share photos and home video and recommend books.
Steve Jobs has demonstrated the use of iPad. He shows how to surf the web using the Safari browser. Using an on screen keyboard, he typed an email and flipped through photo albums by flicking his finger across the screen.
The demonstration has been attended by many journalists and bloggers in San Francisco. Steve Jobs has been clapped by the audience and received a standing ovation.
