Pluto has once considered a dwarf planet due to its small size. It is located in the outer edge of solar system. Scientists have just discovered that Pluto has changed its color. It has ruddier hue today than few years ago. This is according to the photos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope which has been examined by the NASA scientists.
The color shift has been observed between the year 2000 and 2002 and this makes the scientists conclude that Pluto has dynamic atmosphere. It is not simply a planet of rock and ice but a planet with atmospheric changes.
Comparing the pictures taken by the Hubble Telescope in year 1994 to that of year 2002, Scientists are now close to the conclusion that there is a seasonal change in Pluto. The photo shows that the color is now significantly redder than it had been for the past years. Astronomer say that Pluto has about 20 percent more red now than it used to have in the past decades..
Pluto has been removed in the category of planets in August 2006. Scientists are now gathering more information regarding this color transition. They are collecting additional photos from Hubble Telescope to investigate further on this phenomenon.
