Why Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Quits Lakas-KAMPI?
The rumor about the resignation of Gibo as chairman of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD Party has all started with a text message. The Presidential aspirant confirmed on March 30, 2010 that he will indeed quit Lakas-Kampi CMD.
Gibo resigned as chairman of the administration party so he can be able to focus on his campaign for the presidency. However, Gibo’s resignation as chairman of administration party doesn’t mean he will also quit the presidential race.
In an interview, Gibo said he doesn’t want to compromise his political career due to the distraction of organizational problems being raised by his partymates. He wants to focus on his campaign as a President.
After Gibo’s resignation, another two top executives of the administration party also quit. The consecutive resgination of the top members of the Lakas-Kampi also indicates that they eventually loosing the strength on May 10 election.
In spectator’s point of view, I may say that something is wrong with the administration party. Focusing on the campaign is a shallow reason. Maybe the administration is not fully supporting Gibo Teodoro on his Presidency race despite being the administration bet. Notice that Gibo doesn’t have much TV advertisement, his campaign materials are also lacking compared to Villar and Aquino, and most of all, the support from President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is not that visible.
Do you have any idea now what’s going on with this political game? It is becoming apparent that Gibo Teodoro is actually not the administration bet, or I may say Gloria’s bet. There are some reports that Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is secretly supporting Manny Villar. We don’t have any strong evidence that may testify to this though.
This is a call to every voter to become sensitive and become wise in selecting the right President of this nation.
