One of the most controversial stories for every Manny Pacquiao fight is the way our national anthem is being delivered.

The National Historical Institute is filing a complaint against Journey lead singer Arnel Pineda. They have been eyeing on every National Anthem singer and none of them has escaped the criticism. The NHI is the government body responsible for ensuring that everybody respect the national anthem, Philippine flag and other national symbols.

The National Historical Institute believes that Arnel Pineda has changed the tone and tempo of the Philippine national anthem when he sang it before the Pacquiao-Clottey bout in Texas and he liable for this offense.

Pineda, on the other hand, has defended himself by saying he had sung it with all his heart. He is prepared once the complaint is filed as he is dealing with his lawyer with regards to this issue.

I have been watching Pacquiao’s previous fight as well as Clottey’s previous fight so I can predict who will possibly win the upcoming battle.

Everybody is now excited and is looking forward for Pacquiao-Clottey fight. The boxing event will be held on March 14, 2010 at Cowboys Stadium. Manny Pacquiao is now at its best to take his full potential as a boxer in the Cowboy Stadium to face the number 1 contender and the former world welterweight champion Joshua Clottey.

Based on Clottey’s previous fight, I can see that this guy is a tough one. He has a solid punch. Every punch that he is releasing is just like a solid rock being tossed on his contender’s face. This man can surely create a ferocious battle on the ring and a thrilling victory.

Pacquiao’s ace on the other hand is his speed and his power punch. I have seen his last three fights and I saw how he dominated those fights by a knockout. If he did that to his last three contenders, he can surely do it again this time.

It is hard to predict, because both fighters are great and has the capability to bring home the title. But without any bias (knowing the fact that I am a pure filipino), I think Pacquiao will win by a knockout on the 8^th or 9^th round.

We are counting the days toward the 82nd Annual Academy Awards which is known as the Oscar Awards. This is the mother of all film awards and is presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The sole purpose of this awarding Ceremony is to recognize the excellence of professionals involve in the film industry. This includes the directors, actors, actresses and the writers.

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will be shown live on March 7, 2010 at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.

I was able to watch the February 27 episode of “Pilipinas Got Talent”, the country’s biggest talent search show brought to us by Kapamilya Network, and I was amazed with the performance of Jovit Baldivino. He is a 16 year old contestant from Batangas. Baldivino performed his own rendition of “Faithfully” by Journey’s.

With his performance, Baldivino got three whooping YES from the judges. He also earned himself praises and adoration from the “hard-to-please” judges. He stands out not only because he has a good voice but also because he is a family hero. He is just a 4^th year High School student and selling siomai as his part time job so that he can help his family.

“Alam mo magandang example ka sa mga nanonood ng ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ kasi tumutulong ka sa pamilya mo,” Delas Alas said.

Baldivino does not only capture the judges’ attention but also the audiences including me. I can see that this boy has a good future as he is now being branded as the next “Arnel Pineda”.

The video of his performance has been uploaded on Youtube and has been viewed more than 100,000 times, a proof that a lot of people want to see his performance.

Kris Aquino also commented:

“And apart from that, pinagsasabay mo ang pag-aaral, ang pagtulong sa pamilya at ngayon you’re on the road to stardom.”

As an ordinary viewer of “Pilipinas Got Talent”, I think you guys have just found a gem.

The 2010 Winter Olympics is over. It has been 17 exciting and memorable days for the participants. The 2010 Winter Olympics which was held at Vancouver Canada, has officially closed on February 28, 2010. The closing ceremony has greatly reflected the culture of the host city and it has been filled with celebration expressing the spirit of sportsmanship and acknowledging the greatest athletes of the world.

The closing ceremony took place at the BC Place Stadium, Vancouver, BC. There has been great celebration in the place with the performance of leading artists. The firework display is also amazing and the dance numbers are incredible.

GMA7’s Sunday noontime show SOP will air its last episode on February 28, 2010. This has been confirmed by Ogie Alcasid on the interview.

“Yes, it’s true, Magpapahinga na muna ang aming Sunday variety show after 14 years, 13 years… So, abangan n’yo na lang ang susunod na mangyayari”, Ogie said.

GMA7 will definitely replace the SOP with a new show. The new show will be aired on March 21 with a title “Party Pilipinas”. The Kapuso network has not confirmed the casts of this new show yet, but Alcasid will most probably one of the casts.

This seems to be a fold for SOP against ASAP XV which is constantly reigning on top as Sunday noontime show for almost 15 years. If we are going to compare SOP with ASAP XV, SOP is really boring. The show was not able to justify the “Party TV” brand.

We hope that “Party Pilipinas” can do better than SOP and will beat ASAP XV.

Yahoo is planning to integrate with Twitter as part of enhancing their online properties. The company aims to allow yahoo users to view what has been posted on twitter within the Yahoo site. You can also post your twitter update right within your yahoo account.

A couple of months ago, Yahoo made the same deal with the famous social network, Facebook. This is I think a smart move of Yahoo to counterpart Google Buzz.

Yahoo will display a live stream of Tweets within other online properties including its email service and sites devoted to sports, entertainment and finance later this year.

What Yahoo wants to happen is to display Twitter messages which are relevant to each property. A Twitter message must be related to the the topic in an article. For example, Twitter messages that will be displayed in Entertainment page should be about Hollywood, movies, and anything related to entertainment.

“We believe that the content and context side of things is very unique,” Yahoo Vice President of Communities Jim Stoneham told Reuters in an interview.

This teamup will surely boost the social feature of Yahoo.

The People’s champ boxing coach Freddie Roach believes that Manny Pacquiao doens’t have to prove more after winning the 7 division world title. Only Manny Pacquiao has ever get to that point in boxing history.

If Floyd Mayweather will not agree to fight with Manny Pacquiao after Joshua Clottey, he will never ever get the chance to fight with Pacquiao because this could be his last bout on the ring.

“If Mayweather doesn’t come around after the fight and he doesn’t sign to fight us, then this (Clottey fight) could be our last one,” Freddie Roach said.

The boxing coach would be happy to see Pacquiao retire while still on the top.

After the fight with Clottey, Pacquiao will be very busy for his political career as he is running for Congressman in Sarangani Province for the May 2010 election.

Mayweather should have two options:

a. Take it and experience the punch of 7 division world title Manny Pacquiao

b. Leave it and forget Pacquiao

This is a challenge for Mayweather.
